Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
Provides customer focused contract management services for the Department of Defense throughout the acquisition life cycle. DCMA's Contract Administration Offices (CAOs) manage contracts for the Department of Defense within a geographic area and within contractors' plants. This management includes daily, on-site surveillance of contractor systems and program-specific concerns that cannot be viewed or monitored by offsite agencies, including access to and participation in internal contractor meetings. The CAO organization allows DCMA personnel to reside close to or in contractors' facilities and to tailor services to customers' unique requirements and associated risks.
Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS)
Provides information concerning payment to Department of Defense (DoD) vendors. Provides information on invoices submitted against contracts with the Department of Defense and paid by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). The Web Site allows contractors view a list of invoices currently received by DFAS and the status of each invoice. Check numbers or Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) Trace numbers may also be entered and the customer may view a list of the invoices included in the payment with explanations of elements that make up the payment.
Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L)
Provides the Defense Acquisition System, a single, uniform system whereby all equipment, facilities, and services are planned, designed, developed, acquired, maintained, and disposed of within the Department of Defense. Among the items available is the EC/EDI Handbook, a guide for contractors and small businesses who wish to sell to the Government.
